Tomales Bay is historically the
home of at least twenty threatened and endangered species.
Some species, such as the Grizzly Bear, have been extirpated
from the region and no longer visit its shores. Others,
such as the Coho Salmon, continue to live here and are
the beneficiaries of intensive restoration efforts. As
we learn more about the habitat requirements of these
rare species, we will be better able to foster a healthy
and sustainable Tomales Bay ecosystem.
